Photos: Communities Relay to Knock Out Cancer

Estimated crowd of 1,500 students and families gather for American Cancer Society event.

In a joint effort to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer, students, teachers and families from the and Mendham High School communities gathered Friday night and took part in the annual Relay For Life event.

Participants walked through the night at West Morris Central High School and took part in a slew of activities.

English teachers Laura Pelizzoni and Debbie Gonzalez, of Mendham and Central, respectively, were the advisors for the project. The event hosted a sit-down dinner for cancer survivors prior to the relay, and was followed by a luminara-candle ceremony.
