Washington Twp. Schools Prepare for Heat Wave

Schools still anticipate having full days.

Temperatures in Long Valley are expected to reach 97 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, and Washington Township Schools are taking precautions to prepare of the heat wave.

In a statement on the K-8 district's website, the administration advises that students should dress appropriately for the excessive heat, and are allowed to bring their own water to school. Accessibility to water fountains will be available throughout the school days, the statement said.

The possibility of closing the schools due to heat will be revisited during the day on Wednesday, the statement said.
