WMC Fencing Sweeps Morristown, Both Teams 2-0

Boys foil squad goes undefeated against Colonials.

The West Morris Central fencing team continued its early-season roll on Monday by having both its boys and girls squads beat Morristown.

The boys looked especially dominant against the Colonials, at one point winning 16 bouts in a row on their way to a 22-5 victory. The boys also saw their foil squad, manned by juniors Mike Berezny and Aidan Burn, sophomore Cody Gelsinger and freshman William Cottiss, go 9-0 on the day.

The girls, though not quite as dominant, won by a score of 15-12 and were highlighted by a 7-2 performance from their sabre squad. Junior sabrist Katie Dickson highlighted the performance with her second round bout, where she came back from a 0-4 deficit to take the bout, 5-4.

The boys and girls will compete again on Wednesday, when they travel to Voorhees High School to take on the Vikings.
