LV's 9U Baseball Team Snags Tourney Title

What's the saying? If at first you don't succeed, try try again?

For the Long Valley 9U team, that's exactly what happened en route to its Ridge Independence Tournament Championship.

The squad went 4-0 in the North Jersey District 7 Cal Ripken tournament, but fell short of its goal of winning the district championship. 

But the resilient team went undefeated in the Ridge tournament, winning six consecutive games on its way to a title. 

Coached by Neil Scanlon, Mickey Pirrello, Dave Weippert, John DeSimone and Tom Chisari, the team has qualified to play in the Branchburg tournament later this month.

The team includes: Matthew Nunez, Matt Ruppel, Michael Pirrello, Mikey Zutell, Alex DeSimone, Christian Weippert, Michael Scanlon, Michael Williams, Nicolas Chisari, Ryan Pirrello, and Cameron Brown.
