Lineman will suit up for West team in Paul Robeson All-Star Game.

Nick Hamilton thought his final high school football game wearing a Wolfpack helmet took place last fall in the playoffs.

“It’s an honor (to be selected for the game),” Hamilton said. “I’m very excited to see how I compare with the other players.”

Hamilton, who won’t be playing football when he attends the University of Maryland in the fall, said he’ll miss playing Friday nights, and this game “Gives me a chance to have that kind of experience one more time,” he said.

A total of 88 players have been selected for the game, with the West suiting up 45 and the East charting a roster of 43. Over the last 18 years, the East has a dominant 16-2 record in the game.

Hamilton has been practicing with teammates and is in line to start the game, he said. “I’m hoping for a solid performance in my last game, and hopefully I’ll get my name in the stat sheet a couple of times,” he said.

However the game ends, Hamilton will surely never forget the experience.
