West Morris Central Stops Mendham, 19-0

Wolfpack move to 3-1 in 2011.

The West Morris Central High School football team traveled to sister school -and rival- West Morris Mendham, to put their winning record on the line against the winless Minutemen. The Wolfpack’s defense was in charge all day, keeping Mendham off the scoreboard, on the way to a 19-0 win.

IN SHORT

Wolfpack kicker Connor Young kicked two field goals, including a 16-yarder in the first quarter, which turned out to be the winning points. Young also added another field goal in the second quarter. Central added a touchdown just before halftime, when Joe DeBiasse caught a pass from quarterback John Gutowksi and ran 56 yards before being stopped on the six yard line. A quick pass from Gutowski to Jon Ciccone gave the Wolfpack a 12-0 heading into halftime. The Wolfpack’s final score came on a six-yard scamper by Jason Mackewicz mid-way through the fourth quarter.
