West Morris Central Wrestling Dominates Morristown
Wolfpack wrestling easily defeated Morristown High School on Friday, led by impressive performances by John Schade, Nick Matthews, and John Isemann.
varsity wrestling was the first of two teams to face the Morristown Colonials on Friday evening, but the Wolfpack was the only team to secure a win, 44-27, over the Colonials.
Parsippany also faced Morristown Friday night, but the Colonials won that match, 36-30.
West Morris Central overmatched Morristown, winning by a comfortable margin. Each bout was as intense as the last, but West Morris Central excelled more in the light to middle weight classes, coming up with some solid performances that carried them to victory.

In the 103-pound match, West Morris Central’s John Schade was able to out-wrestle Morristown’s Declan Patterson. Nick Matthews picked up a win by pin in one minute and 47 seconds into the first round against Morristown’s Toby Beston in the 140-pound bout.
John Isemann also picked up a win by a large margin in his 125-pound bout over Morristown’s Myles Mislafsky that went all three rounds.

Despite the loss to West Morris Central, Morristown bounced back in their second meet of the night, beating Parsippany to break even. Morristown dominated many of the matches against Parsippany, exhibiting resilience after their earlier loss.
In a few of the best matches of the night, Morristown's middle to heavy weight classes shined against Parsippany. Darren Dungee was able to win by pin in the first round over Parsippany’s Omar Sheira in the 215-pound match. Dungee was undefeated on the night -- he also picked up a first round pin win against West Morris Central’s Zach McGuire.
Patrick Murphy was also perfect on the night, winning against Parsippany’s Nick Pizzuta and West Morris Central’s Josh Macka in the 171-pound weight class.
Wins by Parsippany's Joe Morgan (140 pounds) and Patrick Fales (171 pounds) over Morristown’s Axel D’Addario (140) and Yameen Joy (171) kept Parsippany close, but, in the end, it was Morristown that won the most matches.
West Morris Central will take part in a quad meet at Dover High School on Saturday at 9 a.m. Morristown will face Madison High School, Governor Livingston, and Chatham on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.
