Wolfpack Softball Shutout by Undefeated Morris Knolls
Strong pitching, defense kept Central in the game.
IN SHORT
Defense and pitching kept the Wolfpack in the game against the number one team in the county, Morris Knolls, but in the end, a lack of offense did them in. The Wolfpack lost, 2-0. Right fielder Courtney Chase started a relay to second baseman Allie McCourt to catcher Kelsey Brown who blocked the plate and tagged out a runner at home. In center, Aubrey Pellerin made a leaping catch at the fence to rob Morris Knolls of at least an extra base hit.
WOLFPACK OF THE GAME
First basemen Katie Carberry made stretch after stretch, digging balls out of the dirt, leaping to grab high throws and snagging a low line drive for an out.
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES
Shortstop Maggie English got two key outs to end Morris Knolls' scoring threats in two different innings.

THEY SAID IT
“Don’t get me wrong. I don’t like losing. But when you go toe to toe and only lose 2-0 against the number one team in the state, I think we played a good game. We came into the game respecting Morris Knolls but did not back down to the challenge,” said coach Courtney Burtos.
