An erratic month of March weather led to early April showers, but that couldn’t stop the Long Valley Junior Wolf Pack track team from running past its opponents.

Using the West Morris Central track, the Wolf Pack hosted the neighboring Chester track team and posted outstanding results for a dominating team win of 277 to 133.

The meet got off to a tremendous start, as Wolf Pack runners of all ages took down their respective 800-meter races one by one. Libby Masterson and Eric Lusskin both won the girls and boys 9-10 age group, respectively, followed by Max Murata and Jacob Dolan taking the first two spots in the 11-12 boys group.

In the same age group on the girls side, Catherine Masterson and Sara Hanifin met their male counterparts, also taking first and second, respectively, in the 11-12 age group 800-meter race.

Neil McIntyre and Tyler Bishop came in second and third in the boys 13-15 age group, matched by Ava Lusskin and Sarah Bhargava taking the same spots on the girls side. Both the 9-10 boys and girls 800-meter relay teams swept first place in their races.

Wolf Pack runners were all over the podium in the 100-meter race as well, seeing Scott Van Woert and Jake Doerr-Fredrickson take second and third in the boys 9-10 age group. On the girls side, Rosalie Olsen and Sophie Dolan came in first and second in the 100.

Hurdling to more points, Sebastian Hughes and James Zeolla took first and second in the 110-meter hurdles for the 11-12 age group, followed by female counterpart Samantha Olsen taking third in the same event and age.

Brittany Carratura and Crystal Robinson took first and second in the 13-15 age group for the 110-meter hurdles as well.

It was the mile event, however, that put the Wolf Pack over the top, as Eric Lusskin, David Brown, and Scott Van Woert swept the podium for the 9-10 year old group. On the girls side, Elize Fracchiola and Shannon Carrutura bookended the podium with a first and third finish in the event.

At the 11-12 age, Derek Jenkins took third place in the mile and Molly Sabo grabbed second in the same event for the girls. Another Wolf Pack sweep came for the 13-15 year old girls, when Ava Lusskin, Rosie Lauzzerrai and Sarah Bhargava grabbed all the points.

Colin McLoughlin and David Brown went one and two in the boys 11-12 400-meter race, with their female counterparts, Shannon Flammer, Sharon Carratura, and Libby Masterson sweeping in the same event. Another sweep for the girls came in the 200-meter as Rosalie Olsen, Maggie McIntyre, and Sophia Dolan took all the podium spots for the 9-10 year old girls.

On the field Gerard Carratura, Luke Fredrickson, and Scott Van Woert swept the 9-10 boys shot put, and Doris Migliaccio took first for the girls in the same event for the 11-12 year old category.

Hunter Booth, Ian Dalgliesh and Chris Pollack swept the 13-15 year old group in the shot put as well. Libby Masterson, Haley Bishop and Shannon Flammer took the top three spots in the 9-10 year old long jump event.
