Local band hits the stage on 'America's Got Talent.'

After an hour-long manhunt Thursday night near Turtleback Road, a man was found in his vehicle with a shotgun and was reportedly suicidal, Washington Township Police said. A New Jersey State Police Aviation helicopter was used to find the vehicle, located in a cornfield. The incident ended without injury.

Owned by Long Valley’s Cheryl Burger, the Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe in Chester went from local to national this week, after winning an . The show’s results led customers to the store on Monday–a day the shoppe is usually closed–in droves. The success has been great for the business and its loyal fan base.

That’s The Dog Pound hot dog truck, offering motorists inexpensive and quick bites to eat while they travel through Washington Township. Reverse Order, a four-man band from neighboring Hackettstown, tested its mettle as a contestant on the reality competition show “America’s Got Talent” Tuesday night. The band made it onto the competition by winning a YouTube contest, but results weren’t favorable the following night. Check out their performance here.
