Don't forget to share your Hurricane Irene photos with us.

The first full week of August is upon us, which means the dog days of summer are about to arrive. There’s plenty going on this week around Washington Township, so let’s take a look at what you need to know.

You Need a Night Out: The National Night Out event will be held at the Washington Township Target Department Store on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 2 to 7 p.m. Members of the Washington Township and Hackettstown Police departments will be on hand offering child finger-printing and child safety seat checks.

You Need to Join a 5K: The employees of Rafferty’s Salon in Califon will be hosting a 5K walk/run to benefit salon owner Kathy Herzog on Aug. 11. The event kicks off on the Columbia Trail in Califon. All are welcomed to join this event.
