Board Members Take Oaths, Flapjack Fundraiser Ahead This Week

First full week of 2014 will see school board leaders named to presidential posts.

The first full week of 2014 is a busy one, as two school boards will be swearing in new and incumbent members this week and naming presidents and vice presidents. Here’s a breakdown of the meeting schedule in the coming days.

On Monday, Jan. 6, the West Morris Regional school board will hold its reorganization meeting prior to its regular meeting. Four members will be sworn in at the meeting, including new Mendham representative Brian Cavanaugh and new Chester Township representative Gary Lakritz.

Washington Township incumbents Tom Richar and Lisa Woodring will also take their respective oaths of office. The board will vote on a new president and vice president as well. The 2013 president, James Johnston, is no longer on the board. Joe Galayda served as vice president during that same time and remains on the board.
