It’s the last full, non-holiday week of 2013! Whoa! There’s plenty going on besides last minute shopping, so let’s see what you need to know about.
The week kicks off with the final regular meeting of the year for the Township Committee, which will bid farewell to committeeman David Kennedy, who did not seek re-election for an additional three-year term. He is being succeeded by Don Babb, who will be sworn in at the beginning of January.
In case you missed the township committee’s work session meeting last week, it was a doozy, as more than 50 residents appeared to be heard about the potential development of an apartment complex on Kings Highway. Find out more here.
On Monday and Tuesday residents can drop off clothing for a drive being put together by the West Morris Central girls basketball team. Clothing, shoes, bedding and stuffed animals can all be donated to three different locations; the front porches of three homes in Washington Township, including 8 Ann Road, 3 Liberty Hills Court, and 23 Glen Ridge Drive.
Also, be sure to check out our report on gun permits and registration in 2013 in Washington Township, which nearly doubled last year’s total – a record-setting year in itself.
Have a great week, Washington Township!
