Meetings Mark Monday in Washington Township

Washington Township Committee, West Morris Regional School Board meet in the evening.

The week in Washington Township kicks off with a bang, as two major meetings take over Monday night.

The first, at West Morris Mendham High School, is the final gathering of the West Morris Regional Board of Education before the start of the 2013-14 school year.

The agenda shows a presentation is expected by a member of the New Jersey School Boards Association for the board’s goals and self-evaluation. That, along with teacher assignments for the upcoming school year and amendments to coaching positions marks a lengthy docket.

One item on the agenda that was a point of contention last year is the appointment of school facilities monitors at both high schools. This year’s contract shows a $25 per hour rate being proposed, as opposed to last year’s rate of $35 per hour.

A little closer to home, the Washington Township Committee will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday night.

After canceling its scheduled work session on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the governing body has plenty to discuss and finalize.

Two presentations will be made from the Musconetcong Watershed Association and Long Valley Fire Company.

In addition, the committee will be discussing a front-yard ordinance and potential revaluation in the town. The agenda can be found here.
