School Sports Return, Year-Long Road Closure Begins This Week

September is kicking off with a bang in the Mendhams and Chesters, as families come back from summer vacations and prepare for school and other activities.

With that comes a lot of business, and there’s no shortage of it in the area this week. Let’s take a look at what’s going on.

The week kicks off with all municipal departments closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day. Non-summer hours will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The high school fall sports season kicks off for a few teams this week. We’ve got a list of which teams to watch and when right here, so check it out and clear your schedule for some scholastic competition.

Don't forget the Newburgh Road Bridge project is expected to begin this week, which will shut down the roadway to through traffic for up to a full year. Keep an eye out for that story as well.
