Two Major Meetings, Taste of Town Fundraiser Ahead This Week

First library meeting since Sunday closings set for Tuesday.

It’s February, and before you know it, March will be here! The Super Bowl hoopla is over and Punxsatawney Phil has made his prediction, whether it comes to fruition or not.

There’s plenty going on this week, so let’s get to it.

On Tuesday at the Benedict Cucinella School, the Washington Township School district board of education will meet at 6:30 p.m. and immediately go into closed session. The board will open to the public at 7:30 p.m. Discussions on the upcoming budget season will be held, and residents are encouraged to attend.

Also on Tuesday is the Washington Township Public Library’s Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. It’s the first meeting of the board since the library began closing on Sundays due to budget shortfalls. Find out more here.

End the week with some fun for a great cause by attending the annual Long Valley Competition Cheerleading Association’s 6th Taste of the Town on Friday at 7 p.m. The event will be held at St. Mark’s Church, and cost is $35 in advance or $45 at the door. The program helps members of the cheerleading squad to travel for national competitions. Find out more here.

Have a great week, Long Valley!
