For the first time in district history, full day kindergarten will kick off in Washington Township schools this year. Plenty of planning has gone on to ensure a smooth transition, according to Superintendent Jeff Mohre.
Pump House Nears Completion at Old Farmers Road School
Crews worked feverishly this week to make sure a pump house being built to support a new water line between Washington Township and Chester Township would be complete before the start of the school year, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9. Washington Township School district business administrator Liz George said she was verbally promised the project would be complete in time for Monday.

Expanded Counselor Program Comes to Middle School
The Long Valley Middle School will enter the 2013-14 school year with an additional guidance counselor, as the department expanded from two to three. The reason behind the move was to give better support to students and help with their long-range academic goals.
