Teaching students in various subjects from grades six through eight, Long Valley Middle School sits near the bottom of Schooleys Mountain on West Mill Road. Led by Principal Mark S. Ippolito, the school runs on a "house" system: each grade is divided into three houses, with approximately the same amount of students in each one. The school's grounds offer ball fields, tennis and basketball courts, a playground and is home to the township's bus yard. There are two gymnasiums, two libraries and two cafeterias inside the school. Long Valley Middle School sports teams are known as the Panthers.
