Rex Ryan Crashes Mustang in Pennsylvania

NY Jets coach 'did not deny causing the accident' after allegedly going through red light.

New York Jets head football coach Rex Ryan told authorities he was trying “to beat the light” when he apparently caused a minor three-car crash during the evening rush hour last week in Bethlehem, Pa., police said. The accident occurred at the intersection of Wyandotte and W. Third streets, just south of the Hill-to-Hill Bridge on Jan. 14 at 6:13 p.m. One eyewitness and the driver of one of the other two cars in the crash told police they saw a 2013 red Ford Mustang, which Ryan was driving, go through a red light as it traveled west along W. Third Street, police said. Man Airlifted After Car Hits Tree on Naughright Road

Accident closed roadway between Arrowhead Drive and Jackie Drive on Monday afternoon.

A Dover man was airlifted Monday afternoon after crashing his vehicle into a tree on Naughright Road, Washington Township Police said. The man was conscious when he was extricated from the vehicle, police said. He was airlifted from Benedict A. Cucinella School to Morristown Medical Center. The vehicle was travelling northbound on Naughright Road when it struck the tree, police said. There were no other vehicles involved. The accident closed a portion of Naughright Road between Arrowhead Drive and Jackie Drive. Patch will continue to update this story.

Belvidere Man Dies, Two Injured in Route 46 Crash

Police say victim was not wearing his seat belt.

A 34-year-old Belvidere man was killed in a two-car accident on Route 46 in Budd Lake Thursday morning, while two others were taken to the hospital, according to Mount Olive police. Christopher Connors was pronounced dead at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center after succumbing to injuries sustained in the crash, police said.  Police said Connors was traveling eastbound on Route 46 near the intersection of Woodland Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. when the 2003 Honda Accord he was driving crossed from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane. At that point, police said his car collided head-on with a 1997 Chevrolet van that was traveling westbound in the right lane. One Dead, Two Injured in Mt. Olive Crash

Female motorcycle passenger died after bike collided with sedan on Route 206 Sunday night.

A female passenger on a motorcycle was killed Sunday night when the vehicle she was riding struck a sedan on Route 206 in Mount Olive, according to Mount Olive Police Officer Eric Anthony. The motorcycle was heading southbound on Route 206 when it collided with a Toyota Camry leaving the 7-Eleven convenience store, which was attempting to turn left into the northbound lane of the roadway, Anthony said. UPDATE: Police identify woman killed as a 60-year-old Toms River resident. The driver of the motorcycle remained on the bike when the vehicles collided, but the passenger was ejected from the rear seat, Anthony said. Three Hurt in Serious Crash On Route 206 in Mt. Olive

Roadway was closed Sunday night while the accident was cleared in front of the 7-Eleven.

At least three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that shut down Route 206 in both directions near the 7-Eleven in Mount Olive Sunday night. A police officer confirmed the accident involved a silver sedan and a motorcycle. According to witnesses on the scene, a passenger of the motorcycle was ejected. No further details were available Sunday night.

Hi genesko-I agree about that being a dangerous stretch of road. My daughter works in that area and I worry about her pulling out of there. That being said, why can't people exercise a little patience and NOT try and get around those turning off of or coming on to Route 206? Is the risk of causing an accident or worse worth shaving a minute off your commute time? Why do people insist on not …   more ›

Update: Rt. 206 in Chester Re-Opened After 3-Car Crash

Fuel spill, accident investigation and ongoing police activity close the thoroughfare at Cooper Lane in Chester for over three hours.

On one of the few seasonably cold nights of the winter, two cars and a box truck collided on Route 206 and Cooper Lane in Chester causing a road closure on the highway just before 6 p.m. on Feb. 26. Long Valley resident Daniel Recca was traveling north on route 206 when he crossed his 1998 BMW into the southbound lane and collided with a Hino box truck and a 2011 GMC Acadia, police said. The truck was being driven by Max Matamos, age 40, of New Brunswick and the Acadia by 42-year-old Gina DiFazio from Chester Township. Matamos and his two passengers were transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital by the Chester First Aid Squad for minor injuries while DiFazio was uninjured in the crash.
