Dapper Bandit's Arrest Was His Fourth, Prosecutor Says

Warren Township resident tells judge he planned to start job on Wall Street Monday.

Bail for the so-called dapper bandit, the Warren Township man accused of robbing several Morris County banks, will remain at $500,000, a state Superior Court judge ruled Monday afternoon. Judge Robert Gilson presided over a bail review hearing at Morris County Courthouse for David G. Carroccia, 28, who is charged with four counts of robbery in connection with bank robberies this summer in Parsippany, Lincoln Park and Mount Olive, plus an attempted robbery at a Kinnelon bank, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi. Carroccia may also face separate charges stemming from other robberies in Somerset and Monmouth counties, according to Assistant Morris County Prosecutor Julie Serfess. Another Bank Robbed, But With an Arrest This Time

Latest incident reported by prosecutor is the sixth in Morris County in a two-month span.

The sixth bank robbery in a two-month span has occurred in Morris County, but this time an alleged robber was arrested, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi. Stephen L. Smith, 29, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with robbery and theft in the incident. The PNC Bank on Route 46 in Parsippany was robbed at 11 a.m. on Wednesday by a man who fled the scene, Bianchi said. The man did not show a weapon, Bianchi said. According to Bianchi, a man was stopped and arrested by Secaucus Police on Route 3 without incident. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Parsippany Police Department, Morris County Sherriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section and the FBI are investigating, Bianchi said. Masked Man Robs Parsippany Bank at Gunpoint, Prosecutor Says

Though it is the fifth bank robbery in the county since July, the description does not match others.

Another bank robbery has taken place in Morris County and Parsippany, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. A man described as black, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall and approximately 220 pounds allegedly brandished a handgun during the incident at Provident Bank on Smith Road at 9:25 a.m., the prosecutor's office said. They also said the man was described as wearing a ski mask, gloves, a jacket, jogging style pants and black sneakers. This is the fifth bank robbery in Morris County since July, although the description reported does not mach the other four. Before Monday's robbery, the latest was in Lincoln Park on Thursday. Bank Robbery May Be Related to Budd Lake Incident, Prosecutor Says

Morris County Prosecutor's Office says there may be a link from Thursday's in Lincoln Park.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and two Morris County law enforcement agencies are investigating a bank robbery that took place at the Boiling Springs Bank in Lincoln Park on Thursday, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. The incident may be related to other recent bank robberies in the county, including one in Mount Olive in July, according to the prosecutor's office. The bank allegedly robbed on Thursday is located at 60 Beaver Brook Road in Lincoln Park. The prosecutor's office said the robbery happened around 2:09 p.m. The man is described by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office as a white male in his 20s or 30s between 6-foot and 6-foot-2 tall. Cops Seek John Gunton in Bank Robbery Attempt

Police officer recognizes man from surveillance images, prosecutor's office says.

Police say they've identified the man who tried to rob a Morristown Bank of America Saturday John B. Gunton Jr., 61, of Morristown. They're currently working to track down Gunton, and seeking the public's help. Morristown Police Officer Brian LaBarre recognized Gunton after viewing bank surveillance photos, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Morristown Police Detective Chris Oakley charged Gunton with one count of second-degree robbery. Cops Hunting for Would-Be Bank Robber

Man described as 55 to 65 years old, with white hair, clean shaven.

Police are looking for the 55-to-65-year-old man they say tried to rob Bank of America on South Street in Morristown Saturday. The man entered the bank at about 1:15 p.m, approached a teller and said he was committing a robbery, according to a statement from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. But the man then fled on foot before obtaining any money, the prosecutor's office said. No weapon was shown, the prosecutor's office said. It did not specify whether the man made any threats or had any interaction with bank customers.
