VOTE: Long Valley's Person of the Year

Four finalists were nominated by Long Valley Patch readers.

We asked, and–as always–you answered. For the first time since Long Valley Patch's launch in September 2010, we asked readers who they felt should garner the inaugural 'Person of the Year' award.  Comments on the article we originally posted last week brought in nominations for four different people and groups of people, including: So, now we're asking you to put the winner to final vote in our poll below this article. We'll keep voting open until Friday, Dec. 28 at 11:59 p.m.

Who's Long Valley's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year, again! The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008. But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Long Valley's Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”? Tell us your pick in the comment section below! We'll put together a poll of the top nominations on Wednesday for readers to choose from.
