Boy Swimmers Dominate, Girls Fall in Dual Meet
Dozen student-athletes set personal bests.
West Morris Central Swim team had mixed results in their meet against Hanover Park High School on Jan. 3. The boys team came away with a convincing win but the girls, unfortunately, did not fare quite as well. In a prior meet against Villa Walsh, the girls had started to gain ground against their competition by capturing two of the three relay races, both high scoring events necessary to help win meets. Alas, that feat was not repeated against Hanover Park. On the other hand, there were many individual accomplishments deserving praise. Freshman Kowalewski took a decisive first place in the 200 meter Free. Freshman Castaneda continued to dominate both the 200 meter IM and the 400 meter Free events.
