MaryLynn Schiavi has over 20 years experience as a multimedia journalist and communication consultant. From 2007 to 2009 she served as writer, associate producer, host and narrator for Matter and Beyond, a documentary-style series that explores the philosophical and ethical dimensions of science and technology which was awarded a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy in the category of Outstanding Health and Science Programming in 2009.

She earned a bachelor's degree at New York University with a double major in journalism and political theory and a minor in philosophy. She also studied religious philosophy at Drew University Graduate School.
