Thai Restaurant Offers Plenty of Options

As the newest addition to Long Valley’s Restaurant Village, Pandan Fusion Lounge offers plenty of menu items for Thai food lovers, as well as those who just want to mix it up for their taste buds and try something different.

The restaurant, which serves Thai and Indonesian cuisine, has been quietly operating as a part of Restaurant Village on Fairmount Rd. since October and is the sister restaurant of the Pandan Room Restaurant in Hackettstown, which has been in business for five years and counting.

Jay Chai, who owns both restaurants, told Patch that Long Valley seemed like a perfect location for a restaurant like the Pandan Fusion Lounge.

“The (Long Valley Pub & Brewery) owner offered us this place, and Long Valley has good potential,” said Chai. “Everybody is educated here, and I think we’ll do well in this environment.”

 The restaurant also offers a variety of menu options for people of varying tastes. Patrons can take some of the zing out of their meal by reducing the spiciness, and they can also come by for a Dim Sum-style lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We customize the food here; you can have it mild, medium, hot or extra hot,” said Chai. “You don’t have to worry that it’s going to be too hot or too spicy for you.”

Now that the restaurant has had a couple of successful months at its Long Valley location, Chai expects the presence of Pandan Fusion Lounge to pick up within the community by the time summer arrives.

“So far, we haven’t advertised a lot, but word-of-mouth is out there. We expect more people will come in and check us out,” said Chai. “We haven’t done much advertising; we’ve just wanted to get up and running and make sure everything is run well.”
