Pump House Nears Completion at Old Farmers Road School

System will help bring water from Washington Township to Chester Township.

Crews have worked all summer to build a pump house on the campus of Old Farmers Road School, and he project is expected to be complete in the coming days.

The pump house is being created to assist in the additional water flow that will be needed from Washington Township to service 73 properties on Parker Road in Chester Township.

Washington Township Schools business administrator Liz George said this week the district was promised by the Environmental Protection Agency - who is funding and conducting the project - all work would be done and the area cleaned up before school starts on Monday, Sept. 9.

The water line installation and connection on Parker Road has already begun and is expected to last until April, with residents being able to hook into the water system as early as January, according to the Washington Township Municipal Utilities Authority.
