Historic House Tour Weaves Through Town Saturday

Drakestown Church holding food drive all day Saturday.

The first weekend of October will surely be full of beautiful colors and apple and pumpkin picking, but there are two big events you should be aware of – and take part in!

Washington Township’s Historical Society is at it again, coordinating the annual Historic House Tour, set for Saturday, Oct. 5. This year has a theme celebrating the town’s first settlers, and has been moved to the fall season instead of December.

“Autumn in the Valley” will take participants through the German Valley historic district, where the town’s first settlers made their homes. Ticket information and times for the tour can be found here.

Also on Saturday is an emergency food drive at the Drakestown Church between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The church, located on Church Road (between Naughright and Drakestown roads), will hold a “Stuff the Van” food drive to try and fill its pantry for families in need.
