Cucinella Kids Raise $6,888 for Lightner

Students empty piggy banks, hold fundraisers for teen battling brain cancer.

The students, families and staff of the school have shown tremendous generosity and compassion for Glenn Lightner and his family in his fight against cancer.

Funds to support the Lightner family were contributed in various ways. Several students supported the cause by with family and friends while other students participated by donating the contents of their own “piggy banks.” Mrs. D’Angelo’s fifth grade class was rewarded with a game of kickball with Dr. Battitori and Mrs. Whitmore for their outstanding efforts in contributing approximately $1,100, which was the largest donation by class.

The staff of Cucinella also showed support for Glenn Lightner and his family by participating in dress down Fridays through the month of March. A grand total of $6,888.76 was contributed by the Cucinella community.
