Snowfall In Long Valley To Begin Before 3 PM

Dark Sky mobile app predicts storm system will dump six to nine inches of snow in Long Valley.

An up to the minute weather app called Dark Sky is predicting flurries will begin to fall in Long Valley just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

All local schools were dismissed early Thursday in preparation for a winter storm that could dump as much as 10 inches of snow on the ground.

The app's radar showed flurries would begin just after 2:50 p.m. and numerous other weather reports say the storm will last well into Friday. Forecasts are calling for near-blizzard like conditions before the storm system dissipates and temperatures return to the high-30s and low-40s over the weekend.
