What Should Go Here: Blockbuster Video

Longtime Washington Township movie rental store ready to shut its doors.

Before there was the Internet, before there was Netflix, before there was DVR and OnDemand, there was the movie rental center.

In the Hackettstown area of Washington Township, there was Blockbuster Video, which, on any given Friday or Saturday night in the 1990s could be seen with lines wrapping around the new release section of the store.

Now, .

So, with that kind of location–sitting directly on Rt. 46, across from and a Target department store–what should go there?

Would you like to see more retail? Maybe a new restaurant? How about a convenience store, or maybe a gas station?

Let us know what you think should go there in the comments section below, and as always, thanks for your participation.

How about a fabric/craft store? Walmart and Target don't have much of a selection, and it would be nice to have a store locally to shop in.

A Starbucks sounds good to me, Hackettstown/Long Valley needs one. OH yeah!

Hey Terri, Thanks for the comment! There's actually a Starbucks (smaller in size) across the street inside the Target Department Store. So, it sounds like you'd definitely like to see some kind of retail there, in place of Blockbuster?
