Board Meeting, Science Program On Tap This Week

The last full week of shopping is ahead of us, and we’re heading into the Christmas holiday and all the festivities that go with it. It’s a busy season but there’s still plenty going on this week, so take a look.

You Need a Board Meeting: The final Washington Township School district board of education meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Long Valley Middle School. It is the final meeting of board President Michael Rec, who did not seek re-election this year.

You Need Some Science: The Washington Township Recreation Department will host the Smarty Cat Jr. Scientist program in February and is looking for registrants. The program is five-weeks long and costs $75.

You Need to Donate: Girl Scout Troop #518 in Long Valley has joined with Blankets for Brigantine to help Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Blankets, gloves, hats and the like are being requested at various businesses in town. Check out this story to find out how you can help.
