Taste of Europe Lands in Downtown Long Valley

Maria Baniel was an electric engineer, then a stay-at-home mom. Through it all, though, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling and sampling wines from across the globe. Those two traits became one, and Baniel recently opened the Café & Wine Bar at Restaurant Village. Check the story to learn more about this new local business.

Flu Vaccine Offered to Residents by Township

Epidemic levels of influenza outbreak this month across the country has led many to scramble for vaccinations. Early this week, Patch reported on the state of available inoculations in the area, followed by a poll asking if residents got their shots or the flu–or both. The township will now hold a flu clinic, it announced, the final weekend of January.

Two of Old Farmers Road School’s educators continue to pursue teaching beyond the textbook with the Include Me! program introduced three years ago. In their efforts, Tara Ligos and Mary Egan have obtained a third grant for the program, this time in the amount of $2,500 to help extend the program through the entire school district.

Woman Airlifted After Head-On Crash on Route 206

A scary incident on Rt. 206 in Chester Township Thursday afternoon sent one woman to the hospital after she crashed her vehicle into a tractor-trailer, according to police. The roadway was shut down for nearly three hours, snarling traffic in the area.

Windt Rises to Next Level as WMC Wrestlers Beat Morristown

Long Valley Patch blogger David Yaskulka, our resident West Morris Central Wolfpack wrestling expert, shared this week’s post with yet another strong season unfolding for one of the team’s members. In addition to the wrestling team’s success, the school’s swim team had a strong showing at a recent meet, and the boys’ and girls’ fencing teams are a combined 6-2 to start the season.
