Helicopter Searches for Partying Chester Teens

A house full of teens partaking in a party and drinking alcohol fled to the woods when police from Chester, Washington Township and other nearby agencies responded to the scene. New Jersey State’s Aviation Unit was called in to help search for the teens that ran away. Everyone was found and no injuries were reported.

Assistant Super Named in Regional District

The West Morris Regional High School District appointed Robert Beers to become its assistant superintendent recently. Beers is the former assistant principal at West Morris Central High School and taught history for more than 10 years. His position is not being filled.

‘Jersey Mike’ Flips Onto World Cup Podium

Mike Rossi, of Long Valley, will turn 19 soon. But in the past week, he’s put his stamp on the freestyle aerial skiing scene, capturing third place at the Deer Valley, Utah competition in the World Cup Tour. He’s the first American man to medal in the months-long tournament. Way to go, Jersey Mike!

It was expected that a decision regarding the overturning of a sexual orientation policy by the Boy Scouts of America would be made Wednesday, but it was moved to May. This week, however, we caught up with one of the town’s troop leaders to get his thoughts on the policy and its potential change.
