Week in Review: Budgets and Business Take the Lead

See what happened in town over the past seven days.

Long Valley survived the first week of March without any weather-related problems, and it looks like the temperatures are finally warming up. There was plenty to cover and take note of this week, so in case you missed it, here’s a recap.

It was also a very informative week for the school districts serving Washington Township. Long Valley Patch learned that the West Morris Regional High School District created a tentative , under the 2-percent state mandated tax cap. The Washington Township K-8 district also released its tentative budget, with a , also under the 2-percent tax cap.

Former Washington Township Mayor and current Morris County Freeholder announced her bid for re-election this week at the Morris County Republican Committee office in Morristown. Nordstrom is seeking her fifth consecutive three-year term. Check .

The Washington Township Committee held another meeting this week to go over budgets for administrative departments in the municipality. The governing body is still to meet the 2-percent tax cap.

It was a sports-filled week for the with state tournament games aplenty. The and basketball teams as well as the ice hockey team all breezed through the first round of their respective tournaments, but two teams fell in the second round. See what happened with the and on Thursday night.
