Week in Review: Businesses Bustling in LV

Library making advances over next three years.

From spring break schedules to Holy Week happenings, it was another news-filled week in Long Valley. As always, if you’re looking for the full plate of what went on, read this.

We began the week with a look at the future of one of Washington Township’s most popular institutions, . Ever-changing technology and resources were the impetus for the library to create a new vision, and over the next three years you’ll see subtle–but impactful–changes. .

Long Valley Patch learned that the Middle Valley Road Bridge, just off of Rt. 513 in the Middle Valley section of Washington Township, will undergo a complete replacement. The project, according to the Morris County Engineering department, will take about six months to complete. .

Business took the spotlight this week, as we learned about the closing of a long-time staple in Washington Township: the Blockbuster movie rental store in Hackettstown. . We also checked in on the progress of Hackettstown Honda, slated to open this spring. A state-of-the-art building is nearly complete. . And readers weren’t shy about what they’d like to see in the vacant business space that formerly held Quizno Subs. ?

The ongoing process regarding the Long Valley Safety Project went a step further this week, after Washington Township Mayor Ken Short spoke with Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen about the issue.

Everyone’s favorite produce stand made its 2012 debut, as the Long Valley Green Market opened on Thursday. Crowds were as plentiful as the variety of options for purchase.
