Week in Review: Mysterious Findings Shock LV

The week began mysteriously as a dead body was found in the Musconetcong River, between the property owned by Greenway Flowers in Washington Township and the Shell gas station in Hackettstown. The Mt. Olive Fire Department’s Swift Water rescue team .

Late Thursday evening, Hackettstown Police revealed the identity of the person found in the river. .

It was also learned this week that Long Valley native and West Morris Central graduate Stephen Berstler, Jr., went missing on Dec. 30. His mother, Sandi Basenese, believes that her son tried attempting an athletic feat of greatness by jumping off the George Washington Bridge, and will come home.
