Trotters Tackle Trail in Thanksgiving Morning 5-Mile Run

Area residents spent their holiday morning getting some exercise.

What's Thanksgiving without a little trotting?

That's what residents from Long Valley, Mendham and Morristown did on the morning of Nov. 28, as they traversed the Columbia Trail for a five mile jaunt before their respective family feasts.

Thanksgiving morning's blue skies were accompanied by 26-degree temperatures, but that didn't stop Liza Rongen, Megan Sellers, Oliva Christmann, Mary Froehner, and Terri Christmann from the taking on the trail.

The group took off at 8 a.m. in Long Valley and finished their morning workout by 9 a.m., leaving plenty of time to enjoy the holiday.
