Want a Free Vacation? Help Teen Battle Cancer

Winner of raffle to support Glenn Lightner gets a week's stay in Orlando.

As the neighborly committee to help raise funds for a local family continues to find avenues to benefit a teen stricken with brain cancer, one event has been stepped up a notch, and taking a lucky family to Florida.

Multiple fundraisers in Long Valley have been held to support . From dinner events to bake sales and outdoor concerts, more than $135,000 has been donated to the Lightner family as they seek alternative medicinal treatment abroad.

This time around, however, the group of neighbors helping raise funds for the family have set up a 50/50 raffle, with the winner receiving a full week stay in Orlando, Florida at a condo in Cypress Pointe Resort & Villas.

Tickets for the raffle cost $25, with all proceeds benefitting the Lightner family. The winner is able to redeem the free stay between November 2012 and April 2013.

The villa was donated by Leanne Costantino Ajbuszyc and Joseph Costantino, Jr., and includes two king beds, one twin bed, one trundle bed, one sofa bed, two bathrooms, fully-stocked kitchen, and washer and dryer. Amenities include a children’s pool, fountains and playgrounds, water slides, spa pool, outdoor pool, and poolside café.

Raffle winner will be announced at the Washington Township Police Benevolence Association’s “Run Like Lightning” event benefitting the Lightner family, to be held Oct. 6 at Long Valley Middle School.
