David Nalven was an explorer and a courageous battler.
The 86-year-old Mendham resident died after a six-year battle with Stage IV lung cancer.
Nalven spent the past 34 years living in Mendham and worked for many years with AT&T. Nalven’s hobby as a fossil hunter and collector grew much larger when he was given a volunteer position as the Geology Curator at the Morris Museum for the past 24 years.
The tennis lover is survived by his wife, Goldie, four children and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the Morris Museum. Memorial donations can be made to the Morris Museum or Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center.
