Services Set for Long Valley Teen Who Died From Brain Cancer

St. Luke's church will host Saturday morning funeral service.

An open funeral service for family, friends and well-wishers has been set for Brendt Migliaccio, a Long Valley who passed away Tuesday at the age of 15.

St. Luke's Church on West Mill Road will host a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, according to Father Mike Drury.

Migliaccio battled medulloblastoma for nearly four years after being diagnosed in April 2010. Medulloblastoma is a cancerous tumor on the back of the brain, which effected Migliaccio's nervous system.

An avid lacrosse player, Migliaccio was the focus of a West Morris Central LAX benefit held in June 2012 where proceeds went to the family and awareness for cancer research was promoted.

A 1,000-paper crane mobile was also created for Migliaccio by his peers at the school in June 2012
