World War II Vet, Former Schooley's Mountain Fire Chief Dies at 92

Charles Naomi owned his own business as a master plumber.

Charles Naomi, formerly of Washington Township, died at the age of 92.

Naomi died on March 7 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. He was a master plumber and owner of Charles Naomi Plumbing and Heating, according to his obituary.

Naomi led a life of service as well, having been a member of the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Omaha as a Tail Gunner from 1942 to 1945.

Not only was Naomi a member of the Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protection Association, he was a former chief of the company as well.

He is survived by one son, one brother, three grandsons and six great grandsons.
