Cops: Budd Lake Men Had 'Green Vegetation'

Tailgating stop leads to arrest.

Two Budd Lake men were arrested and issued criminal complaints for possession of marijuana after being pulled over by for tailgating on Monday, Feb. 21, police said.

Washington Township Police Officer Michael Hade stopped the vehicle on East Avenue in Hackettstown, and when he approached the car immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Hade searched the car and found a multicolored glass pipe along with two small plastic bags containing “green vegetation,” according to police.

The car’s driver, 22-year-old Harry Trojahn, was issued a vehicle summons for tailgating and improper safety glass along with criminal complaints for possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Trojahn’s passenger, 19-year-old Gregory Bach III, was also issued a criminal complaint for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Both Trojahn and Bach were released with a pending court date.
