Cops: Man Intruded, Fled Bennington Sq. Home

Washington Township police are still investigating Tuesday incident.

Police are searching for an intruder who entered a home on Bennington Square and fled just after 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.

A family member arrived at the Bennington Square home and encountered an unknown man inside, Niemynski said. Upon confrontation, the man fled down a flight of stairs and left the home, Niemynski said. No injuries were reported.

Nothing in the home was stolen or damaged, Niemynski said.

The surrounding areas were checked and the man could not be located, Niemynski said. Officer Peter Cecere and K9 Kobe assisted with the search, which was in the immediate vicinity of the home, Niemynski said.

The matter is currently under investigation by the detective bureau. A description of the man was not released.
