Long Valley Man Admits Throwing Bottle at Oncoming Car, Cops Say

More than $750 in damage made to vehicle.

A thrown bottle that caused a slew of damage to a Long Valley resident’s car resulted in a criminal mischief charge this week, police said.

A man was driving his vehicle north on Naughright Road near Cindy Lane on Sept. 1 just after 6 p.m., Lt. Art Adams said. An investigation showed a “large” bottle was thrown into the roadway, striking the man's windshield and causing more than $750 in damage, Adams said.

Two weeks later, on Sunday, Sept. 15, James Cornish, 24, of Long Valley, turned himself in at police headquarters and admitted throwing the bottle, Adams said.
