Man Busted on Sex Warrant Shows Fake ID, Cops Say
Dover man had sexual contact with minor in South Carolina, police report.
A routine motor vehicle stop led Washington Township Police to an arrest warrant for a man who allegedly had sexual contact with a minor, Lt. Art Adams said.
Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Officer Michael Hade stopped a white van on Route 46 for a motor vehicle violation, Adams said. While speaking with a passenger in the vehicle, Hade discovered the man provided false identification, Adams said.
Edwin Cabrera-Canales, 25, of Dover was then taken to police headquarters for further investigation, Adams said. At that point it was learned Cabrera-Canales had an active criminal sexual conduct with a minor warrant out of Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina.
