Police: Teen Girl, Man Had Drugs in Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Washington Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Asbury teen girl and Washington Township man were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana after being stopped in Long Valley for a car equipment problem, Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.

Maria Barry, 19, and her passenger, Anthony Korski, 21, was stopped by Patrol Officer Michael Hade on West Springtown Road at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, Niemynski said.

When Hade spoke with the Barry, he determined that she was driving while intoxicated, Niemynski said. She was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Barry also received a motor vehicle summons for alleged failure to maintain lamps, improper display and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Korski was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
