Vandalism Spree Causes $10K in Car Damages, Cops Say

Califon teens accused of damaging six vehicles in Washington Township.

Two Califon teens allegedly went on a car-damaging spree resulting in their arrest and criminal charges, Washington Township Police Lt. Art Adams said.

The male teens, 13 and 15 years old, whose names will not be released due to their ages, were arrested Dec. 22 by Det. Thomas Falleni for criminal mischief, Adams said.

Between the hours of 10 p.m. on Oct. 30, 2012, and 8 a.m. Oct. 31, 2012, the teens allegedly damaged six vehicles parked on Pershing Avenue, Second Street and School Street in Califon, Adams said.

One of the vehicles had racial slurs scratched into its hood, Adams said. The total damage to the six vehicles is estimated at $10,000, Adams said.
