E-Waste Now Accepted at Washington Twp. Recycling Center

Residents can dispose of two items per drop-off to Rock Road facility.

The Washington Township recycling center has expanded its capabilities and will now allow residents to dispose of electronic materials during normal hours.

Located on Rock Road near the Department of Public Works, the recycling center is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the first, third, and fifth Wednesday of each month at the same time.

Residents are limited to two items per week, according to the township, and are responsible for unloading their own items into the designated container. The following is a list of acceptable items:

  • Laptops
  • Printers
  • Electric Typewriters
  • Televisions
  • Vacuum Cleaners (without bag)

  • Fans
  • Heaters
  • Irons
  • Toaster Ovens
  • Microwaves
  • Telephones
  • VCRs
  • Bread Makers
  • Clocks
  • Coffee Makers (no glass)
  • Mixers
  • Remotes
  • Radios
  • Stereos
  • Video Game Consoles

There are a few items listed as unacceptable, including:

  • Air Conditioners
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Refrigerators
  • Freezers
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Stoves

In years past the township’s Green Team has organized a major e-waste recycling program twice per year to accommodate residents’ needs. For more information on the program, call the recycling center at 908-876-3382.
