Parker Road Milling Work Underway

Next road on 'A' list for repairs closed to through traffic.

One of Long Valley's major arterial roadways, Parker Road, on the southern end of Washington Township, is closed to through traffic until Friday, July 8 for milling and paving work between East Fox Hill and Black River Roads.

The repair project on Parker Road is part of the , in which Wehrli Road, Parker Road, and portions of Flocktown Road were considered high priority for being fixed in 2011.

Washington Township police officers were located at the intersection of Parker and Black River Roads, as well as the intersection of East Fox Hill and Parker Roads. There is also another officer stationed at the intersection of Parker and Old Farmers Roads, redirecting drivers seeking entrance to Rt. 517 toward East Valley Brook Road. Because Parker Road is often used as an outlet to Rt. 517, and since it is illegal to make a left from East Fox Hill Road onto Rt. 517, drivers are being asked to use East Valley Brook Road to reach the roadway.
