Twp. Officials Express Frustration to JCP&L

Energy provider sits down with municipalities facing same struggles.

Washington Township Mayor Ken Short and Vice Mayor Bill Roehrich met with officials from the Board of Public Utilities as well as Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), the township's energy provider.

Among the topics discussed were the lack of documentation for residents with wells in town, who lose the ability to have water during power outages.

JCP&L has 901 registered residents with wells, while the township estimates approximately 4,000 receive their water source from that method.
