Central Fencers Head to NJ Competition With District Success

Teams fare well, individuals catapult at District 1 competition.

West Morris Central’s fencers are continuing stellar seasons, and will have the chance to prove their worth at the New Jersey State Fencing Championships.

Both the girls and boys teams took part in the District 1 Fencing Championships at Hackettstown High School over the weekend, along with a dozen other squads.

The boys team came in eighth overall, but the trio of Andrew Mange, Daly Mauldin, and Terry Peters earned a bronze medal in the foil competition, punching their ticket to the state tournament.

Central’s girls team took seventh overall, and saw Erin Dietsche earn a bronze in the individual girls foil competition. That mark sent her to the state tournament for that event.

Congrats and good luck!
